Definition

A kind of client-side watermarking (i.e. used to identify individual devices) whereby the identifiers are added to the video by modifying the underlying raw pixels during playback. Typically used on Set-Top-Boxes (see) or on Smart TVs.

Used by content owners to track the source of pirated media.
